Prophetia Zachariae

Et reversus est angelus qui loquebatur in me, et suscitavit me quasi virum qui suscitatur de somno suo.

And the angel that spoke in me came again: and he waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

Et reverte es angelo qui loque in me, et suscita me quasi viro qui suscita de somno suo.

Et dixit ad me: Quid tu vides? Et dixi: Vidi, et ecce candelabrum aureum totum, et lampas ejus super caput ipsius, et septem lucernæ ejus super illud, et septem infusoria lucernis quæ erant super caput ejus.

And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.

Et dic ad me: te vide quid? Et dic: vide, et ecce candelabro aurea toto, et lampa de illo super capite de ipso, et septeme lucerna de illo super illo, et septeme infusoria lucernas que es super capite de illo.

Et duæ olivæ super illud: una a dextris lampadis, et una a sinistris ejus.

And two olive trees over it: one upon the right side of the lamp, and the other upon the left side thereof.

Et duo oliva super illo: uno ab dextro de lampade, et uno ab sinistro de illo.

Et respondi, et aio ad angelum qui loquebatur in me, dicens: Quid sunt hæc, domine mi?

And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me, saying: What are these things, my lord?

Et responde, et ai ad angelo qui loque in me, dicente: quid es hoc, domino meo?

Et respondit angelus qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me: Numquid nescis quid sunt hæc? Et dixi: Non, domine mi.

And the angel that spoke in me answered, and said to me: Knowest thou not what these things are? And I said: No, my lord.

Et angelo qui loque in me responde, et dic ad me: numquid ne sci quid es hoc? Et dic: non, domino meo.

Et respondit, et ait ad me, dicens: Hoc est verbum Domini ad Zorobabel, dicens: Non in exercitu, nec in robore, sed in spiritu meo, dicit Dominus exercituum.

And he answered, and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying: Not with an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Et responde, et dic ad me, dicente: hoc es verbo de Domino ad Zorobabele, dicente: non in exercitu, nec in robore, sed in spiritu meo, Domino de exercitus dic.

Quis tu, mons magne, coram Zorobabel? In planum: et educet lapidem primarium, et exæquabit gratiam gratiæ ejus.

Who art thou, O great mountain, before Zorobabel? thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring out the chief stone, and shall give equal grace to the grace thereof.

Qui te, monte maga, coram Zorobabele? In plano: et educe lapide primario, et exaequa gratia de gratia de illo.

Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Et facto es verbo de Domino ad me, dicente:

Manus Zorobabel fundaverunt domum istam, et manus ejus perficient eam: et scietis quia Dominus exercituum misit me ad vos.

The hands of Zorobabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.

Manus Zorobabele funde domo isto, et manus de illo perfice illa: et sci quia Domino de exercitus mitte me ad vos.

Quis enim despexit dies parvos? Et lætabuntur, et videbunt lapidem stanneum in manu Zorobabel. Septem isti oculi sunt Domini, qui discurrunt in universam terram.

For who hath despised little days? and they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin plummet in the hand of Zorobabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, that run to and fro through the whole earth.

Qui nam despice dies minimo? Et laetor, et vide lapide stanneo in manu Zorobabele. Septeme isto oculos es de Domino, qui discurre in universa terra.

Et respondi, et dixi ad eum: Quid sunt duæ olivæ istæ, ad dexteram candelabri, et ad sinistram ejus?

And I answered, and said to him: What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof?

Et responde, et dic ad illo: quid es duo oliva isto, ad dextera de candelabro, et ad sinistra de illo?

Et respondi secundo, et dixi ad eum: Quid sunt duæ spicæ olivarum quæ sunt juxta duo rostra aurea in quibus sunt suffusoria ex auro?

And I answered again, and said to him: What are the two olive branches, that are by the two golden beaks, in which are the funnels of gold?

Et responde secundo, et dic ad illo: quid es duo spica de olivas que es juxta duo rostro aurea in que es suffusorio ex auro?

Et ait ad me, dicens: Numquid nescis quid sunt hæc? Et dixi: Non, domine mi.

And he spoke to me, saying: Knowest thou not what these are? And I said: No, my lord.

Et dic ad me, dicente: numquid ne sci quid es hoc? Et dic: non, domino meo.

Et dixit: Isti sunt duo filii olei, qui assistunt Dominatori universæ terræ.

And he said: These are two sons of oil who stand before the Lord of the whole earth.

Et dic: isto es duo filio de oleo, qui assiste ad Dominatore universa de terra.
