1Et cum transisset sabbatum, Maria Magdalene, et Maria Jacobi, et Salome emerunt aromata ut venientes ungerent Jesum.
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus.
Et cum sabbato transi, Maria Magdalene, et Maria de Iacobo, et Salome eme aromates ut veni unge Iesu.
2Et valde mane una sabbatorum, veniunt ad monumentum, orto jam sole.
And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen.
Et valde mane uno de sabbatos, veni ad monumento, ori jam sole.
3Et dicebant ad invicem: Quis revolvet nobis lapidem ab ostio monumenti?
And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
Et dic ad invicem: qui revolve ad nos lapide ab ostio de monumento?
4Et respicientes viderunt revolutum lapidem. Erat quippe magnus valde.
And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great.
Et respice vide revolve lapide. Es quippe magna valde.
5Et introëuntes in monumentum viderunt juvenem sedentem in dextris, coopertum stola candida, et obstupuerunt.
And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished.
Et introi in monumento vide iuvene sede in dextro, cooperi stola candida, et obstune.
6Qui dicit illis: Nolite expavescere: Jesum quæritis Nazarenum, crucifixum: surrexit, non est hic, ecce locus ubi posuerunt eum.
Who saith to them: Be not affrighted. you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen: he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.
Qui dic ad illos: ne vol expavesce: iesu quaere Nazareno, crucifige: surge, non es hoc, ecce loco ubi pone illo.
7Sed ite, dicite discipulis ejus, et Petro, quia præcedit vos in Galilæam: ibi eum videbitis, sicut dixit vobis.
But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee. There you shall see him, as he told you.
Sed i, dic ad discipulos de illo, et ad Petro, quia praecede vos in Galilaea: ibi illo vide, sicut dic ad vos.
8At illæ exeuntes, fugerunt de monumento: invaserat enim eas tremor et pavor: et nemini quidquam dixerunt: timebant enim.
But they going out, fled from the sepulchre: for a trembling and fear had seized them. And they said nothing to any man: for they were afraid.
Sed illo exi, fuge de monumento: invade nam illas tremore et pavore: et ad nemine ullo dic: time nam.
9Surgens autem mane prima sabbati, apparuit primo Mariæ Magdalene, de qua ejecerat septem dæmonia.
But he rising early the first day of the week, appeared first to Mary Magdalen; out of whom he had cast seven devils.
Surgente autem mane primo de sabbato, appare primo de Maria Magdalene, de quo eicie septeme daemonio.
10Illa vadens nuntiavit his, qui cum eo fuerant, lugentibus et flentibus.
She went and told them that had been with him, who were mourning and weeping.
Illa vade nuntia ad hoc, qui cum eo es, luge et fle.
11Et illi audientes quia viveret, et visus esset ab ea, non crediderunt.
And they hearing that he was alive and had been seen by her, did not believe.
Et illo audi quia vive, et viso es ab illa, non crede.
12Post hæc autem duobus ex his ambulantibus ostensus est in alia effigie, euntibus in villam:
And after that he appeared in another shape to two of them walking, as they were going into the country.
Post hoc autem duo ex hoc ambula ostende es in alio effigie, i in villa:
13et illi euntes nuntiaverunt ceteris: nec illis crediderunt.
And they going told it to the rest: neither did they believe them.
Et illo iente nuntia ad cetero: nec ad illos crede.
14Novissime recumbentibus illis undecim apparuit: et exprobravit incredulitatem eorum et duritiam cordis: quia iis, qui viderant eum resurrexisse, non crediderunt.
At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again.
Novites recumbe ad illos undecime appare: et exprobra incredulitate de illos et duritia de corde: quia ad illo, qui vide illo resurge, non crede.
15Et dixit eis: Euntes in mundum universum prædicate Evangelium omni creaturæ.
And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Et dic ad illos: iente in mundo universa praedica Evangelio omni de creatura.
16Qui crediderit, et baptizatus fuerit, salvus erit: qui vero non crediderit, condemnabitur.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall he condemned.
Qui crede, et baptiza es, salva es: qui vero non crede, condemna.
17Signa autem eos qui crediderint, hæc sequentur: in nomine meo dæmonia ejicient: linguis loquentur novis:
And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues.
Signos autem illos qui crede, hoc seque: in nomine meo daemonios eiice: linguas loque novo:
18serpentes tollent: et si mortiferum quid biberint, non eis nocebit: super ægros manus imponent, et bene habebunt.
They shall take up serpents: and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hand upon the sick: and they shall recover.
Serpentes tolle: et si mortifero bibe quid, non ad illos noce: super aegros manus impone, et bene habe.
19Et Dominus quidem Jesus postquam locutus est eis, assumptus est in cælum, et sedet a dextris Dei.
And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God.
Et Domino quidem Iesu postquam locuto es ad illos, assume es in caelo, et sede ab dextro de Deo.
20Illi autem profecti prædicaverunt ubique, Domino cooperante, et sermonem confirmante, sequentibus signis.
But they going forth preached every where: the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed.
Illo autem proficiscor praedica in omni loco, Domino cooperor, et sermone confirma, seque signos.
