1 Chronicles

Attulerunt igitur arcam Dei, et constituerunt eam in medio tabernaculi quod tetenderat ei David: et obtulerunt holocausta et pacifica coram Deo.

So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent, which David had pitched for it: and they offered holocausts, and peace offerings before God.

Fffera ergo arca de Deo, et constitue illa in medio de tabernaculo Davide tete ad illo quod: et offer holocaustas et pacifica coram Deo.

Cumque complesset David offerens holocausta et pacifica, benedixit populo in nomine Domini.

And when David had made an end of offering holocausts, and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

Cumque Davide comple offer holocausta et pacifica, benedic ad populo in nomine de Domino.

Et divisit universis per singulos, a viro usque ad mulierem, tortam panis, et partem assæ carnis bubalæ, et frixam oleo similam.

And he divided to all and every one, both men and women, a loaf of bread, and a piece of roasted beef, and flour fried with oil.

Et divide ad universa per singulo, ab viro usque ad muliere, torto de pane, et parte de assa de carne bubalo, et frina oleo simila.

Constituitque coram arca Domini de Levitis, qui ministrarent, et recordarentur operum ejus, et glorificarent atque laudarent Dominum Deum Israël:

And he appointed Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to remember his works, and to glorify, and praise the Lord God of Israel.

Et constitue coram arca de Domino de Levitis, qui ministra, et recordor de operes de illo, et glorifica et lauda Domino Deo Israële:

Asaph principem, et secundum ejus Zachariam: porro Jahiel, et Semiramoth, et Jehiel, et Mathathiam, et Eliab, et Banaiam, et Obededom: Jehiel super organa psalterii et lyras: Asaph autem ut cymbalis personaret:

Asaph the chief, and next after him Zacharias: moreover Jahiel, and Semiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mathathias, and Eliab, and Banaias, and Obededom: and Jehiel over the instruments of psaltery, and harps: and Asaph sounded with cymbals:

Asaph principe, et secundo illo Zachariase: porro Iahiele, et Semiramoth, et Iehiele, et Mathathiase, et Eliabe, et Banaia, et Obededome: iehiele super orgos de psalterio et lyras: asaph autem ut cymbale persona:

Banaiam vero et Jaziel sacerdotes canere tuba jugiter coram arca fœderis Domini.

But Banaias, and Jaziel the priests, to sound the trumpet continually before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

Banaia vero et Iaziele sacerdotes cane tuba iugiter coram arca de foedro de Domino.

In illo die fecit David principem ad confitendum Domino Asaph et fratres ejus:

In that day David made Asaph the chief to give praise to the Lord with his brethren.

In illo die Davide fac principe ad confite ad Domino Asaph et fratres de illo:

Confitemini Domino, et invocate nomen ejus: notas facite in populis adinventiones ejus.

Praise ye the Lord, and call upon his name: make known his doings among the nations.

Confite ad Domino, et invoca nomine de illo: noto fac in populos adinventiones de illo.

Cantate ei, et psallite ei, et narrate omnia mirabilia ejus.

Sing to him, yea, sing praises to him: and relate all his wondrous works.

Canta ad illo, et psalle ad illo, et narra omni mirabili de illo.

Laudate nomen sanctum ejus: lætetur cor quærentium Dominum.

Praise ye his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice, that seek the Lord.

Lauda nomine sancto de illo: laetor corde quaere Domino.

Quærite Dominum, et virtutem ejus: quærite faciem ejus semper.

Seek ye the Lord, and his power: seek ye his face evermore.

Quaere Domino, et virtute de illo: quaere facie de illo semper.

Recordamini mirabilium ejus quæ fecit; signorum illius, et judiciorum oris ejus,

Remember his wonderful works, which he hath done: his signs, and the judgments of his mouth.

Recordor de mirabilios de illo que fac; de signos de illo, et de iudicios de ore de illo,

semen Israël servi ejus, filii Jacob electi ejus.

O ye seed of Israel his servants, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Semine Israële servos de illo, filios Iacobo elige de illo.

Ipse Dominus Deus noster: in universa terra judicia ejus.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

Ipso Domino Deo nostro: in universa terra iudicios de illo.

15

Recordamini in sempiternum pacti ejus: sermonis quem præcepit in mille generationes,

Remember for ever his covenant: the word, which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Recordor in sempiterno de paciscor de illo: de sermone quem praecipie in mile generationes,

quem pepigit cum Abraham, et juramenti illius cum Isaac.

The covenant which he made with Abraham: and his oath to Isaac.

Quem peri cum Abrahame, et de iuramento de illo cum Isaace.

Et constituit illud Jacob in præceptum, et Israël in pactum sempiternum,

And he appointed the same to Jacob for a precept: and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Et Iacobo constitue illo in praecepto, et Israële in pacto sempiterno,

dicens: Tibi dabo terram Chanaan, funiculum hæreditatis vestræ:

Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan: the lot of your inheritance.

Dicente: ad te da terra Chanaane, funiculo de haereditate vestro:

cum essent pauci numero, parvi et coloni ejus.

When they were but a small number: very few and sojourners in it.

Cum es pauco numero, minimo et colonos de illo.

Et transierunt de gente in gentem, et de regno ad populum alterum.

And they passed from nation to nation: and from a kingdom to another people.

Et transi de gente in gente, et de regno ad populo altero.

21

Non dimisit quemquam calumniari eos, sed increpavit pro eis reges.

He suffered no man to do them wrong: and reproved kings for their sake.

Non remitte ullo calumnia illos, sed reges pro illos increpa.

22

Nolite tangere christos meos, et in prophetis meis nolite malignari.

Touch not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.

Ne vol tange christos meo, et in prophetas meo ne vol maligna.

23

Cantate Domino omnis terra; annuntiate ex die in diem salutare ejus:

Sing ye to the Lord, all the earth: shew forth from day to day his salvation.

Gantate ad Domino omni terra; annuntia ex die in die salutare de illo:

narrate in gentibus gloriam ejus; in cunctis populis mirabilia ejus.

Declare his glory among the Gentiles: his wonders among all people.

Narra in gentes gloria de illo; in cuncta populos mirabili de illo.

Quia magnus Dominus, et laudabilis nimis, et horribilis super omnes deos.

For the Lord is great and exceedingly to be praised: and he is to be feared above all gods.

Quia magna Domino, et laudabile nimis, et horribili super omni deos.

Omnes enim dii populorum idola: Dominus autem cælos fecit.

For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.

Omni nam deos de populos idolas: domino autem fac caelos.

27

Confessio et magnificentia coram eo: fortitudo et gaudium in loco ejus.

Praise and magnificence are before him: strength and joy in his place.

Confessione et magnificentia coram eo: fortitudine et gaudio in loco de illo.

Afferte Domino, familiæ populorum: afferte Domino gloriam et imperium.

Bring ye to the Lord, O ye families of the nations: bring ye to the Lord glory and empire.

Ad-fer ad Domino, de familia de populos: ad-fer ad Domino gloria et imperio.

Date Domino gloriam; nomini ejus levate sacrificium, et venite in conspectu ejus: et adorate Dominum in decore sancto.

Give to the Lord glory to his name, bring up sacrifice, and come ye in his sight: and adore the Lord in holy becomingness.

Fate ad Domino gloria; ad nomine de illo leva sacrificio, et veni in conspectu de illo: et adora Domino in decore sancto.

Commoveatur a facie ejus omnis terra: ipse enim fundavit orbem immobilem.

Let all the earth be moved at his presence: for he hath founded the world immoveable.

Omni ab facie de illo terra commove: ipso nam funde orbe immobile.

31

Lætentur cæli, et exultet terra, et dicant in nationibus: Dominus regnavit.

Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be glad: and let them say among the nations: The Lord hath reigned.

De caelos taeter, et terra exsulta, et dic in nationes: domino regna.

32

Tonet mare et plenitudo ejus; exultent agri, et omnia quæ in eis sunt.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all things that are in them.

Tone mari et plenitudine de illo; agro exsulta, et omni que in illos es.

33

Tunc laudabunt ligna saltus coram Domino: quia venit judicare terram.

Then shall the trees of the wood give praise before the Lord: because he is come to judge the earth.

Tunc lauda lignos saltus coram Domino: quia veni iudica terra.

Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus: quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus.

Give ye glory to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Confite ad Domino, quia bono: quia in aeterno misericordia de illo.

35

Et dicite: Salva nos, Deus salvator noster, et congrega nos, et erue de gentibus: ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo, et exultemus in carminibus tuis.

And say ye: Save us, O God our savior: and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give glory to thy holy name, and may rejoice in singing thy praises.

Et dic: Deo salvatore, nostro salva nos, et congrega nos, et erue de gentes: ut confite ad nomine sancto tuo, et exsulta in carmines tuo.

Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, ab æterno usque in æternum. Et dicat omnis populo: Amen, et hymnum Domino.

Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel from eternity to eternity: and let all the people say Amen, and a hymn to God.

Benedicto Domino Deo Israële, ab aeterno usque in aeterno. Et que dic omni ad populo: amen, et hymno ad Domino.

Reliquit itaque ibi coram arca fœderis Domini Asaph et fratres ejus, ut ministrarent in conspectu arcæ jugiter per singulos dies, et vices suas.

So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, Asaph and his brethren to minister in the presence of the ark continually day by day, and in their courses.

Relinque itaque ibi coram arca de foedro de Domino Asaph et fratres de illo, ut ministra in conspectu de arca iugiter per singulo dies, et vices suo.

Porro Obededom, et fratres ejus sexaginta octo: et Obededom filium Idithun, et Hosa, constituit janitores;

And Obededom, with his brethren sixty-eight: and Obededom the son of Idithun, and Hosa he appointed to be porters.

Porro Obededome, et fratres de illo sexaginta octo: et Obededome filio Idithune, et Hosa, constitue ianitores;

Sadoc autem sacerdotem, et fratres ejus sacerdotes, coram tabernaculo Domini in excelso quod erat in Gabaon,

And Sadoc the priest, and his brethren priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place, which was in Gabaon.

Sadoce autem sacerdote, et fratres de illo sacerdotes, coram tabernaculo de Domino in excelso quod es in Gabaone,

ut offerrent holocausta Domino super altare holocautomatis jugiter, mane et vespere, juxta omnia quæ scripta sunt in lege Domini, quam præcepit Israëli.

That they should offer holocausts to the Lord upon the altar of holocausts continually, morning and evening, according to all that is written in the law of the Lord, which he commanded Israel.

Ut offer holocausta ad Domino super altari holocautomas iugiter, mane et vespere, juxta omni que scribe es in lege de Domino, quam praecipie Israëlo.

Et post eum Heman, et Idithun, et reliquos electos, unumquemque vocabulo suo ad confitendum Domino, quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus.

And after him Heman, and Idithun, and the rest that were chosen, every one by his name to give praise to the Lord: because his mercy endureth for ever.

Et post illo Hemane, et Idithune, et reliqua elige, et unumquem vocabulo suo ad confite ad Domino, quia in aeterno misericordia de illo.

Heman quoque et Idithun canentes tuba, et quatientes cymbala et omnia musicorum organa ad canendum Deo: filios autem Idithun fecit esse portarios.

And Heman and Idithun sounded the trumpet, and played on the cymbals, and all kinds of musical instruments to sing praises to God: and the sons of Idithun he made porters.

Hemane etiam et Idithune cane tuba, et quatie cymbalos et omni de musicos orgos ad cane ad Deo: filios autem Idithune fac es portario.

Reversusque est omnis populus in domum suam: et David, ut benediceret etiam domui suæ.

And all the people returned to their houses: and David to bless also his own house.

Et reverte es omni populo in domo suo: et Davide, ut benedic etiam ad domo suo.
