Filii quoque Ruben primogeniti Israël. (Ipse quippe fuit primogenitus ejus: sed cum violasset thorum patris sui, data sunt primogenita ejus filiis Joseph filii Israël, et non est ille reputatus in primogenitum.

Now the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was his firstborn: but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his first birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, and he was not accounted for the firstborn.

Filios etiam Rubene primogenito Israële. (Ipso quippe es primogenito de illo: sed cum viola thore de patre suo, da es primogenito de illo ad filios Ioseph de filio Israële, et non es illo reputa in primogenito.

Porro Judas, qui erat fortissimus inter fratres suos, de stirpe ejus principes germinati sunt: primogenita autem reputata sunt Joseph.)

But of the race of Juda, who was the strongest among his brethren, came the princes: but the first birthright was accounted to Joseph.)

Porro Iudase, qui es forti inter fratres suo, de stirpe de illo principes germina es: primogenitas autem reputa es Ioseph.)

Filii ergo Ruben primogeniti Israël: Enoch, et Phallu, Esron, et Carmi.

The sons then of Ruben the firstborn of Israel were Enoch, and Phallu, Esron, and Charmi.

Filios ergo Rubene primogenito Israële: enoch, et Phallu, Esrone, et Carmo.

Filii Joël: Samia filius ejus, Gog filius ejus, Semei filius ejus,

The sons of Joel: Samaia his son, Gog his son, Semei his son,

Filios Ioële: samia filio de illo, Goge filio de illo, Semei filio de illo,

Micha filius ejus, Reia filius ejus, Baal filius ejus,

Micha his son, Reia his son, Baal his son,

Micha filio de illo, Reia filio de illo, Baale filio de illo,

Beera filius ejus, quem captivum duxit Thelgathphalnasar rex Assyriorum, et fuit princeps in tribu Ruben.

Beera his son, whom Thelgathphalnasar king of the Assyrians carried away captive, and he was prince in the tribe of Ruben.

Beera filio de illo, quem captivo duc de Thelgathphalnasare rege de Assyriis, et es principe in tribu Rubene.

Fratres autem ejus, et universa cognatio ejus, quando numerabantur per familias suas, habuerunt principes Jehiel, et Zachariam.

And his brethren, and all his kindred, when they were numbered by their families, had for princes Jehiel, and Zacharias.

Fratres autem de illo, et universa cognatione de illo, quando numera per familia suo, habe principes Iehiele, et Zachariase.

Porro Bala filius Azaz filii Samma filii Joël, ipse habitavit in Aroër usque ad Nebo, et Beelmeon.

And Bala the son of Azaz, the son of Samma, the son of Joel, dwelt in Aroer as far as Nebo, and Beelmeon.

Porro Bala filio Azaz de filio Samma de filio Ioële, ipso habita in Aroëre usque ad Nebo, et Beelmeon.

Contra orientalem quoque plagam habitavit usque ad introitum eremi, et flumen Euphraten. Multum quippe jumentorum numerum possidebant in terra Galaad.

And eastward he had his habitation as far as the entrance of the desert, and the river Euphrates. For they possessed a great number of cattle in the land of Galaad.

Contra orientali etiam plaga habita usque ad introitu de ere, et flumine Euphrate. Multo quippe de iumentos numero posside in terra Galaade.

In diebus autem Saul præliati sunt contra Agareos, et interfecerunt illos, habitaveruntque pro eis in tabernaculis eorum, in omni plaga quæ respicit ad orientem Galaad.

And in the days of Saul they fought against the Agarites, and slew them, and dwelt in their tents in their stead, in all the country, that looketh to the east of Galaad.

In dies autem Saulo praelia es contra Agareos, et interfice illos, et habita pro illos in tabernaculos de illos, in omni plaga que respice ad ori Galaade.

Filii vero Gad e regione eorum habitaverunt in terra Basan usque Selcha:

And the children of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Basan, as far as Selcha:

Filios vero Gado ex regione de illos habita in terra Basan usque Selcha:

Joël in capite, et Saphan secundus: Janai autem et Saphat in Basan.

Johel the chief, and Saphan the second: and Janai, and Saphat in Basan.

Ioële in capite, et Saphane secundo: ianao autem et Saphate in Basan.

Fratres vero eorum secundum domos cognationum suarum, Michaël, et Mosollam, et Sebe, et Jorai, et Jachan, et Zie, et Heber, septem.

And their brethren according to the houses of their kindreds, were Michael and Mosollam, and Sebe, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zie, and Heber, seven.

Fratres vero de illos secundo domos de cognationes suo, Michaële, et Mosolla, et Sebe, et Iorao, et Iachane, et Ze, et Hebro, septeme.

Hi filii Abihail, filii Huri, filii Jara, filii Galaad, filii Michaël, filii Jesesi, filii Jeddo, filii Buz.

These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jara, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesisi, the son of Jeddo, the son of Buz.

Illo filios Abihaile, filios Hurose, filios Iara, filios Galaade, filios Michaële, filios de Ieseso, filio Ieddo, filios Buz.

Fratres quoque, filii Abdiel filii Guni, princeps domus in familiis suis.

And their brethren the sons of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house in their families,

Fratres etiam, filios de Abdiele filios Gunio, principe domo in familias suo.

Et habitaverunt in Galaad, et in Basan, et in viculis ejus, et in cunctis suburbanis Saron, usque ad terminos.

And they dwelt in Galaad, and in Basan and in the towns thereof, and in all the suburbs of Saron, unto the borders.

Et habita in Galaade, et in Basan, et in viculos de illo, et in cuncta suburbanas Sarone, usque ad terminos.

Omnes hi numerati sunt in diebus Joathan regis Juda, et in diebus Jeroboam regis Israël.

All these were numbered in the days of Joathan king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

Omni hoc numera es in dies Ioathane de rege Iuda, et in dies Ieroboame de rege Israële.

Filii Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiæ tribus Manasse, viri bellatores, scuta portantes et gladios, et tendentes arcum, eruditique ad prælia, quadraginta quatuor millia et septingenti sexaginta, procedentes ad pugnam.

The Sons of Ruben, and of Gad, and of the half tribe of Manasses, fighting men, bearing shields, and swords, and bending the bow, and trained up to battles, four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore that went out to war.

Filios Rubene, et Gado, et dimidias tre Manasse, viros bellatores, scutos porta et gladios, et tende arcu, et erudi ad praelios, quadraginta quatuore mile et septingenti sexaginta, procede ad pugna.

Dimicaverunt contra Agareos: Ituræi vero, et Naphis, et Nodab

They fought against the Agarites: but the Itureans, and Naphis, and Nodab,

Dimica contra Agareos: de ituraeo vero, et Naphe, et Nodabe

præbuerunt eis auxilium. Traditique sunt in manus eorum Agarei, et universi qui fuerant cum eis, quia Deum invocaverunt cum præliarentur: et exaudivit eos, eo quod credidissent in eum.

Gave them help. And the Agarites were delivered into their hands, and all that were with them, because they called upon God in the battle: and he heard them, because they had put their faith in him.

Praebe ad illos auxilio. Et sadi es in manus de illos de Agareo, et universa qui es cum illos, quia Deo invoca cum praelia: et exaudi illos, eo quod crede in illo.

Ceperuntque omnia quæ possederant, camelorum quinquaginta millia, et ovium ducenta quinquaginta millia, et asinos duo millia, et animas hominum centum millia.

And they took all that they possessed, of camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand souls.

Et cape omni que posside, de camelos quinquaginta mile, et de oves ducenti quinquaginta mile, et asinos duo mile, et animas de homines cento mile.

Vulnerati autem multi corruerunt: fuit enim bellum Domini. Habitaveruntque pro eis usque ad transmigrationem.

And many fell down slain: for it was the battle of the Lord. And they dwelt in their stead till the captivity.

Vulneratos autem multo corrue: es nam bello de Domino. Et abbite pro illos usque ad transmigratione.

Filii quoque dimidiæ tribus Manasse possederunt terram a finibus Basan usque Baal, Hermon, et Sanir, et montem Hermon: ingens quippe numerus erat.

And the children of the half tribe of Manasses possessed the land, from the borders of Basan unto Baal, Hermon, and Sanir, and mount Hermon, for their number was great.

Filios etiam de dimidia tre Manasse posside terra ab fines Basan usque Baale, Hermone, et Sanire, et monte Hermone: ingenti quippe numero es.

Et hi fuerunt principes domus cognationis eorum: Epher, et Jesi, et Eliel, et Ezriel, et Jeremia, et Odoia, et Jediel, viri fortissimi et potentes, et nominati duces in familiis suis.

And these were the heads of the house of their kindred, Epher, and Jesi, and Eliel, and Esriel, and Jeremia, and Odoia, and Jediel, most valiant and powerful men, and famous chiefs in their families.

Et hoc es principes domo de cognatione de illos: ephro, et Iese, et Eliele, et Ezriele, et Ieremia, et Odoia, et Iediele, viros forti et potente, et nomina duces in familias suo.

Reliquerunt autem Deum patrum suorum, et fornicati sunt post deos populorum terræ, quos abstulit Deus coram eis.

But they forsook the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

Relinque autem Deo de patres suo, et fornicor es post deos de populos de terra, Deo aufer que coram illos.

Et suscitavit Deus Israël spiritum Phul regis Assyriorum, et spiritum Thelgathphalnasar regis Assur: et transtulit Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiam tribum Manasse, et adduxit eos in Lahela, et in Habor, et Ara, et fluvium Gozan, usque ad diem hanc.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phul king of the Assyrians. and the spirit of Thelgathphalnasar king of Assur: and he carried away Ruben, and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses, and brought them to Lahela, and to Habor, and to Ara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.

Et suscita Deo Israële spiritu de Phule de rege de Assyriis, et spiritu de Thelgathphalnasare de rege Assure: et transfer Rubene, et Gado, et dimidia tribu Manasse, et adduce illos in Lahela, et in Habore, et Ara, et fluvio Gozane, usque ad die hoc.
